At a specially called Board meeting on Saturday, December 7, 2024, the GRISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to name Carlos A. Contreras as the Lone Finalist for the position of superintendent of GRSID. There is a state mandated 21 day waiting period before the Lone Finalist can be officially hired.
Mr. Contreras is currently serving as the principal/superintendent of Dell City ISD. He has served in that capacity since 2018. He has a wife, Erika, and two sons, Carlos and Aaron. He is a veteran, having served in the US Navy and Navy Reserves.
